It has been a long-standing tradition that on opening day of the Fair there is a food drive benefiting local area food banks. Last year opening day of the fair brought in 33,866 lbs of food, about 28,000 meals for the community. This year, because of COVID, the need is greater than ever. It is estimated that 2.2 Million Washingtonians will become food-insecure at the peak of the COVID crisis.
So while the 2020 Fair has been cancelled, a drive-thru food drive will take place on Aug 27th, from 4-7pm in the West parking lot at the fairgrounds. Decorate your vehicle in a Fair theme for a chance to win a Family Four Pack of Admissions and Carnival Wristbands for the 2021 Evergreen State Fair. Plus, don’t forget to grab dinner to go at the many food trucks on-site.
