CITY OF MILL CREEK: Mill Creek Mayor Pam Pruitt Resigns

Forms

City of Mill Creek issued the following announcement.

Pam Pruitt has resigned her position as Mayor and Councilmember of the City of Mill Creek.

For the past fifteen years, Mayor Pruitt has been an unwavering advocate for the City of Mill Creek.  We thank her for her tireless efforts to ensure that Mill Creek is a wonderful place to live and work for its residents. From Mayor Pruitt’s efforts to secure the City’s first Post Office to raising over $6,000,000 in funding for the 35th Avenue construction project, she has remained a highly dedicated public servant.  We offer Mayor Pruitt our profound gratitude and respect for her steadfast service to our community, and express our sadness about the news of her resignation.

In her resignation letter, Pam states, “It has been a privilege and honor to serve the residents and businesses of Mill Creek since the mid-1980s both as an activist and as an elected official. When I first ran for office in 1987, it was because I wanted to make life better for everyone in Mill Creek. That has never changed. My love of our City has never wavered.” We wish Mayor Pruitt the very best in her well-earned transition from a political career to focusing her efforts on volunteering to assist others in need. It is with sincere sadness that we announce Mayor Pruitt’s resignation.

The Council will begin the process of appointing a new Councilmember and Mayor Pro Tem Holtzclaw will assume the role of Mayor at this time.
