CITY OF MARYSVILLE: Draft ADA Transition Plan available for review, comment

Available

City of Marysville issued the following announcement.

The next step in the city’s efforts to improve access to public right-of-way for people with disabilities is now available for review. The Draft ADA Transition Plan is open for public comment through Nov. 24.

The draft plan has been under development since summer 2019. It was informed by a public online survey and public workshop, both in March 2020, and a field data inventory of public right-of-way facilities within city limits including curb ramps, sidewalks and accessible pushbutton signals.

Review the draft plan at https://www.marysvillewa.gov/1032/ADA-Plan and provide comments to City Engineer Jeff Laycock, the project manager, by email to jlaycock@marysvillewa.gov or phone at 360-363-8100. Deadline for public comment is Tuesday, Nov. 24.

The ADA Transition Plan is intended to:

  • identify physical and communicative barriers in the City of Marysville’s public right-of-way that limit accessibility to individuals with disabilities;
  • describe the methods to be used to make the public right-of-way accessible;
  • provide a schedule for making necessary modifications to provide better access and achieve compliance; and
  • identify the public officials responsible for implementation of the plan.
