Snohomish County recently started the Support SnoCo campaign to stimulate the economics of local businesses during COVID-19.

The program is funded through the federal CARES act. The goal is to encourage people to shop locally and businesses to attract customers while also following COVID-19 restrictions and protocols.

“We know that local business owners and the people who work for them have had a very hard year,” Snohomish County Executive Dave Somers said in a county release. “We want this holiday season to bring a bit of cheer to our neighborhood businesses by encouraging people to shop locally and safely. The Support SnoCo Campaign provides residents, business owners, and visitors tools to help them make the most of the shopping season. In these challenging times, it is more important than ever that we support one another.”

Snohomish County is a leader in the U.S. when it comes to pandemic recovery, the release said, noting it was one of the first regions to deal with COVID-19.

“The Support SnoCo online hub will strengthen the economic health of Snohomish County by highlighting the fantastic shopping, food, and outdoor amenities that the County has to offer,” Snohomish County Councilmember and Task Force Advisory Group Chair Nate Nehring said in the release.
