American Rescue Plan Act (ARP) Applications Open

B

City of Monroe issued the following announcement on Feb. 16.

The City of Monroe is accepting applications from local businesses, not-for-profit service providers, individuals/households, and other agencies for projects that will benefit the Monroe community. Funding is available through the American Rescue Plan Act (ARP), which provides federal relief funds to states, counties, cities, and towns.

On Jun. 17, 2021, the City Council approved a plan to distribute ARP funding based on community input. Under the approved plan, the City will form three committees consisting of board and commission members to review applications.

Mayor Geoffrey Thomas proposed, and the City Council approved, three priorities into which ARP projects will categorized:

  1. Supporting Recovery
  2. Reconnecting Community
  3. Building Resiliency
In addition to these Project Categories, projects must align with an expenditure category as set forth by the United States Department of the Treasury.

Applications are due no later than 4:30 p.m. on Friday, Apr. 15.

$1,312,500 has been allocated to this current round. Future funding rounds will be announced later this year.

Please see the City's ARP Funds page for additional details, eligibility criteria, and application process.
