LYNNWOOD, WA (September 12, 2022) - On Tuesday, City, State and Federal Officials, along with project partners, joined together to celebrate the beginning of construction of
Phase 2 of the Scriber Creek Trail Improvements, with a ceremonial groundbreaking.
Phase 2 of the Scriber Creek Trail Improvement project will make critical upgrades to approximately 5,000 linear feet of walking paths, transforming it into a non-motorized
transportation alternative to access the Lynnwood Transit Center and future light rail station. Currently, the trail has multiple surface types, is not ADA accessible, and is impassable
much of the year due to flooding in the natural areas. The improved trail will remain in the existing corridor and will be widened to 16 feet, will be ADA accessible with durable, slip
resistant, hard surfaces, will have lighting, and an elevated bridge/boardwalk structure to mitigate flooding in the wetlands.
This trail serves as a critical non-motorized transportation route for those traveling to and from the Lynnwood transit center. Additionally, it will improve public access and enjoyment of
public parklands with new viewpoints in Scriber Creek Park, improved wetland function, and scenic views along the trail corridor.
