Public Works’ snow response continued overnight with crews working to maintain passable routes on the City’s roads and streets.
Today (December 22nd) we are experiencing freezing temperatures, hardpacked snow and ice, and slick conditions in many parts of the city. Street Maintenance Operators are deployed in sanding trucks applying materials to improve road conditions. Priority routes will be routinely patrolled with assessments performed on problem areas. Currently closed road sections will be monitored today for any possible recovery efforts.

There are a few important notes to make in the street sections listed above. In the case of #2 – 97th Ave W is closed at the highway. The previous statement (yesterday) was a touch misleading in that the Highway is not closed, but the street is. Also, 176th Ave W is closed at Olympic View Dr and 242nd St SW is closed from 92nd to 88th and now Cedar St is closed at 9th Ave S.
Please remember to drive carefully allowing plenty of room between you and other vehicles. Give extra space for braking, also. And adhere to road closure signs that may not be listed here. Stay warm and safe!
